APRIL 2017 SOUTH DAM UPDATE
Hallack Contracting has informed us that they will begin demolition of the existing spillway on Tuesday 4/11/17. The first phase will be mobilizing materials and equipment to put in a coffer dam and then demolition. We have not been given a completion date yet.
weather issues we are probably looking at late
in the 2nd week of May for the spillway/launch ramp to be open.
Entry to the spillway/launch ramp will be from Ridge Rd. Look for more information in May here.
The new outflow pipe has been operational since November, 2016. The Board had hoped the spillway work would have been completed last fall however difficulty in driving down the coffer dam panels and their removal took approximately 6 weeks longer than projected.
December 2016 update
Construction to repair the dam is now halted until spring. New outflow structure is operating. Rock water dispersion area on back of dam is functioning for new outflow structure Trash rack is being galvanized and will be installed shortly. Toe drains have been placed in concrete drain pipe. Work to reduce South slope of dam is partially completed. Coffer dam sheeting came out as hard as it went in. Remaining sheets should be out in the next few days.
Silverdam Drive Road is now closed until mid to late April 2017
Construction will be happening from 7AM to 7PM , Monday through Friday
